Century Mallet
A Continuing Tradition
Century Mallet Instrument Service was founded in 1980 by master tuner Gilberto Serna. Located in the same building that J.C. Deagan, Inc. occupied for nearly 100 years, the company has many connections to its historic predecessor.
Gilberto worked for J.C. Deagan for over 15 years and was trained by its very own master tuners. He founded Century Mallet Instrument Service in the original building, with machinery, tuning instruments, and tools purchased from Deagan.
Since that time, Century Mallet Instrument Service has continued to provide quality repairs and tuning for mallet percussion instruments.
After a quarter of a century and countless satisfied customers, our commitment remains to provide unsurpassed service for all keyboard percussion owners, from the student to the symphonic professional.
2013 marks the year Century Mallet officially changed leadership and was passed to Andres Bautista. With years of experience in the musical instrument repair industry, Andres is poised to carry on and advance the craftsmanship initiated by Gilberto more than 40 years ago.
